Event Case Study: Latino Fashion Week 2015

Founded in 2007, the Latino Fashion Week is the only full week and tour dedicated to Latino Fashion in the United States, showcasing top Latino designers from Central and South America, the Caribbean and the United States. Latino Fashion Week is a multi-day branded entertainment environment providing opportunities for fashion designers and sponsors to come face-to-face with primary celebrities, musical talent, media and consumers. Latino Fashion Week is not just a fashion show. It is a movement; “By Latinos, For Everyone.”

CHALLENGE FOR LATINO FASHION WEEK

AAR & Assocs., LTD. the organizers of the Latino Fashion Week, turned to Mevato to help with their social media efforts. In the past, Latino Fashion Week had been primarily focused on Facebook as a way to drive interest to the fashion event, but hadn’t done much else in integrating social media into the fashion event experience. Their challenge for Mevato was to create an experience that would get more event attendees sharing their love for fashion on social media while also sharing the Latino Fashion Week mission to raise funds and create awareness for great causes.

SOLUTION: MEVATO SOCIAL DISPLAY

Mevato installed several social media walls around the event venue, to engage the fashion event attendees and make them feel a part of the experience. Mevato’s Social Media Wall’s showcased user-generated content from Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #LatinoFashionWk.

When visitors came to the venue to register or purchase tickets, they saw the official hashtag and were encouraged to share their excitement about the event on social media. During the main event, a Social Media Wall was projected next to the runway, engaging the audience to post on social media, all while their followers were exposed to the Latino Fashion Week message.

RESULTS FROM MEVATO SOCIAL DISPLAY INSTANT ENGAGEMENT

The social media displays powered by Mevato saw over 800 people use the hashtag #LatinoFashionWk in a five day span, before, during, and after the fashion week. Social media engagement was up 300 – 500%. From 2007-2014 with the hashtag #LatinoFashionWk generating 1000 posts on instagram. With the Latino Fashion Week 2015 event now over, the total number of Instagram posts is just above 2900. During the event, 1700 Instagram posts were generated, averaging 350 instagram posts per day.

The 2015 Latino Fashion Week was an immense success in which everyone had a great time.
